Since the first meeting in 1990 in Berlin, our numbers have grown from 300 to over 2000 making it the definitive conference for PD specialists in Europe and beyond. The most recent conference in Finland attracted delegates from over 60 countries.
The main theme of the conference is 'PD for All'. It will seek to explore and offer guidance on how peritoneal dialysis can be optimised to give patients from different demographics and with varying comorbid diseases the opportunity to use PD and to get the best clinical outcomes.
Scientific Symposia will be linked to Clinical Practice Sessions in topic areas such as PD in the elderly, children, diabetics, heart failure and infection. The symposia will combine the expert views of generalists and PD specialists.EuroPD training initiative: In addition to the pre-conference courses, in 2009 EuroPD will offer a series of master-classes in PD open to selected pre-registered delegates. At the start of each conference day these motivated individuals will be able to choose from a menu of expert tutorials in membrane function, fluid assessment, infection management, statistical analysis and clinical study design. For this high level and interactive sessions, a limited number of pre-registered delegates will be allowed to take part in the round table discussion. Click on the Masterclasses tab for further information on how to apply for a place.
Promoting delegate involvement will also be a major goal of the integrated programme. There will be several sessions devoted to debating some of the most controversial issues in PD today. It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in EuroPD in Strasbourg and we look forward to meeting you there.
